 WELL DONE BOYS

At the start of the season we set ourselves a goal to win promotion. The squad was strengthened with the return of Sam Taylor, Jake Smerdon, who had both played for the team before, and Josh Mann, who had rejoined the club. Glen Humphrey, Jared Sims, Matthew Taylor and Luke Vincent were also added to the squad. Promotion was achieved with three games to go by beating Great Wakering the league leaders putting us top. But after losing the next game against Rayleigh A 2-1, beating Trinity C 13-0 and Trinity B 10-1 we finished Runners Up.

UNDEFEATED IN EUROPE

At Easter we the squad to Holland unfortunately the weather was not very kind to us. Saturday’s tournament was cancelled, as was the friendly on Sunday. The Travel Company managed to arrange some fixtures for Saturday. In the morning we played Zwaluwen U18 (Holland) in a 40 minute game drawing 2-2 with goals from Matt Taylor and Eddie Proctor. In the afternoon we again played Zwaluwen U18 (25+7) drawing 2-2 with goals from Sam Taylor and Jamie Boyce and Bessacarr U15 (Doncaster) (25) winning 3-0 with goals from Eddie Proctor, Glen Norfolk and Jared Sims.

Many Thanks to Kevin for organising the Tour to Holland and for his continued help with the running of the Team. Thank you to Steve, Terry, Alan and Karen for there help this season. Finally thank you to the parents, grandparent’s family and friends for supporting the team through the season.
